Washington Hawthorn

The tree arrived very leavy which is so pretty. I was hoping for a straighter trunk and am wondering if the third lower branch can be trimmed to give the tree a more symmetrical appearance.

Thank you very much! We appreciate your business! You absolutely can cut off that lower branch, we do recommend waiting until the tree is fully dormant during winter to do so though. If you can plan to cut it back between fall and late winter, you should be fine! Have a great week!

is it edible?

This is typically used as a landscaping tree, the seeds are poisonous to eat. Some eats the leaves and berries but you cannot eat the seeds. We cannot personally recommend eating any of it.

Hawthorn tree

I hate Washington hawthorn thorns so much! It is in their name though so that’s what they are about haha. But otherwise these are one of the most beautiful trees that exist.

Thank you very much!
